Police have released a statement on the arrest which took place on the set of EastEnders last May. It was previously reported by The Sun that a man in his 50s, said to be an extra on the soap, had been arrested during a break from filming on suspicion of sexual assault and common assault.

Now, over a year after the arrest, police have released a statement on the incident. A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police told The Sun: "Hertfordshire Constabulary received a report of an incident in Eldon Avenue, Borehamwood on Wednesday 7 May 2025.

"A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of common assault and sexual assault in relation to two victims. Following initial enquiries, he was released with no further action."

At the time of the arrest, The Sun reported that the man had been arrested near the set of The Queen Vic pub after a female extra claimed he had forcibly kissed her. He was then reportedly taken away by security and handed over to police.

The man was later released on bail while police investigated the incident. The arrest was said to have taken place in front of some of the show's actors, including Ian Beale actor Adam Woodyatt. Reports also claimed at the time that filming stopped to allow security and senior production members to deal with the situation.
