EastEnders has unveiled a distressing new storyline for Ravi Gulati, as he struggles to deal with the guilt of his horrific actions. After tense scenes involving Nicola and Harry Mitchell, things take a very dark turn in the aftermath…

This week, Ravi was devastated when he realised that he must have attacked his son Nugget after mistaking him for his late father Nish, with fragmented memories of the missing night coming back to him.

Meanwhile, Harry and Nicola, who spiked Ravi with hallucinatory drugs that evening, prepared to leave Walford with Barney to avoid being caught.

But when Ravi overheard Barney discussing his imminent trip away, he deduced that he was spiked by Nicola – so he grabbed a baseball bat and burst into No.1, aiming the weapon at her and Harry.

In today’s episode, Nicola and Harry stood defiantly against Ravi, who began to smash up the pictures in the hallway with the bat and looked set to cause more harm.

As Nicola attempted to talk Ravi down, she secretly phoned George to let him know about the dangerous situation that was unfolding.

Ravi began to explain that he attacked Nugget as a result of his spiking, but George arrived at that moment. As things escalated, Harry lunged at Ravi and a brutal fight unfolded.

Meanwhile, Priya was furious after vengeful Ravi locked her in the flat, and she phoned Barney, telling him to go home immediately. Avani returned and unlocked the door, so Priya rushed out – and arrived at No.1 in time to stop Ravi attacking Harry.

Back at home, Ravi talked through his feelings, heartbroken that he had come close to killing his own son. He felt even worse when Priya explained that Nicola is pregnant, so he could have impacted even more lives had he carried out this attack.

As the dust settled, Ravi told Priya to go back to the hospital to see Nugget alone. She reminded him that what happened wasn’t his fault and things will get better, before heading out.

While Priya sat by Nugget’s bedside, with Avani growing more suspicious, Ravi continued to struggle at home. In a distressing final scene, he began self-harming, using a wound from earlier to inflict more pain.

Will anyone find out about Ravi’s secret struggle?
