EastEnders spoilers follow for Thursday’s episode (11 December), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.

EastEnders has aired two final twists involving Teddy Mitchell, after his dramatic sentencing scenes. This week, Teddy was sentenced to life imprisonment for Okie’s murder – although we know that he took the fall to protect his son Harry, who accidentally killed him.

As Teddy was taken away from the court, it looked like this was his final appearance in the show – with Roland Manookian confirmed to be leaving. But in a surprise twist, that wasn’t quite the end for Teddy…

Harry responded badly to his dad’s sentencing and secretly headed to The Arches to take drugs again. Gina was horrified when she found him unresponsive in the garage, having taken an overdose.

Gina frantically called for help in today’s episode, and Jack attempted to save Harry’s life while George phoned for an ambulance. Meanwhile, Nicola scrapped with Zack over Barney’s living arrangements, but everything changed when George told her about Harry’s overdose.

Harry was taken to hospital and was in a stable condition, thanks to the injection Nicola gave him that saved his life just in time.

Nicola was in utter turmoil after the events of the day, but George encouraged her to get a pregnancy scan as she suffered stomach pains while tending to Harry.

Her baby was confirmed to be healthy, and she and George later agreed that they both wanted to bring up their child.

Elsewhere, Teddy was told by his lawyer that he was being transferred to a prison in Durham. He begged to speak to his children before he left, and she agreed to try and help.

Back in Walford, Billy was devastated that he’d lost his brother again after only just finding him. But he then got a call from Teddy’s lawyer, who pulled some strings and allowed him to visit.

Teddy urged Billy to look after his boys, which forced Billy to break the news about Harry’s overdose. Billy promised that everyone would be okay but ended up accidentally revealing to Teddy that Nicola was pregnant with George’s child.

As Billy’s underhand visit came to an end, Teddy left him with a final warning to give to George about Nicola.

"You got to tell George to watch himself," Teddy told his brother. "She’s poison, Bill. She’ll ruin him. You don’t know her. You only know her really when it’s too late. Do it, Bill. Don’t let her ruin anyone else’s life. Let this end with me."

With Teddy taken away to serve his sentence, will Billy pass on this sinister message?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
