EastEnders has aired some emotional Slater scenes, as Halloween night prompts Kat Moon to talk to her son Tommy about her childhood. But when Zoe’s plight escalates even further, is there really someone targeting her?

Zoe is convinced that someone is out to get her amid spooky goings-on in the pub. A photo of her and Kat was smashed and smeared with fake blood, then a triggering video of the Slater family from 1988 mysteriously began playing at the party.

Paranoia consumed Zoe as she accused both Vicki and Jean of messing with her, and Anthony told Kat that he feared Zoe was having a psychotic break.

As Halloween night continued in today’s episode, Zoe realised that someone had taken the destroyed photo out of the bin and put it back on her chest of drawers.

Anthony came out of the toilets even though The Vic had closed, and Zoe accused him of sneaking around upstairs – only adding to his concerns about her welfare.

As the dust settled, Zoe insisted on viewing the Halloween video properly and Tommy was keen to watch it with her. Kat demanded they switch it off, but Tommy’s interest about Harry had already been piqued by a previous conversation with Zoe.

Kat was initially annoyed but decided that Tommy was now old enough to hear the truth about the past, so they all sat down to watch the video in full.

The footage showed Harry returning home from Spain to the delight of his family except for teenage Kat, who was determined to make sure her uncle was never alone with little Zoe.

Kat told Tommy that Harry is Zoe’s dad, and in poignant scenes, she opened up about the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of her uncle.

Tommy was devastated to learn about her mum’s ordeal, though he was frightened that his violent behaviour over the last couple of years proved that he was turning into Harry.

That night, Zoe stayed downstairs in the pub to watch a film, but she was awoken a sudden clatter, before a power cut plunged the house into darkness again.

Terrified Zoe went to investigate when she heard another noise in the barrel store, but she found herself locked inside and screamed for help.

Kat and Alfie woke up and rushed to help her out, and Zoe emerged with her hands covered in blood, claiming that there was someone inside who pushed her then ran off.

It was established that there was no one else in the pub – so who, if anyone, is stalking Zoe?

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
