EastEnders has aired devastating scenes involving Linda Carter in the show’s latest episode.

This week, Linda has been disturbed by threatening letters and text messages that are being anonymously sent by Bernie, who is working with Dean.

Johnny gave Linda alcohol to help in her meeting with the prosecutor for Dean’s trial, but it ended in her being taken off the case.

In today’s episode, Johnny found Linda asleep in the kitchen after drinking heavily all night, and she berated him for not letting her take Fraser’s deal.

Sharon shared her concerns with Johnny about the case potentially reopening in the pub, and Bernie overheard.

Johnny opened up to Gina about Linda’s drinking and she reminded him that there is only so much he can do, before agreeing to keep an eye on Linda while he went to persuade the prosecutor to put his mum back on the case.

Gina empathised with a grateful Linda as they prepared lunch together, but they were interrupted by Bernie who demanded a chat with Linda alone.

Wanting to talk about Keanu’s death again, Bernie pulled out a bottle of vodka in front of Linda, who looked horrified.

While Gina was distracted by an argument with Anna outside, Bernie continued to pour Linda alcohol and put pressure on her to tell the truth.

Johnny returned and was furious that Gina had allowed Linda to drink, and his mum escaped upstairs with the vodka bottle.

Johnny told Linda that he had got her back on the witness list, as long as she goes to rehab, but she refused and said she couldn’t take the stand.

Linda blamed him for her being taken off the case in the first place and giving her alcohol in the meeting, which was the last straw for Johnny.

The pair had a blazing row, and Johnny said that he wished Linda had died instead of Mick, before storming out.

As Linda continued to drink heavily in her room, Sharon gave Johnny some words of wisdom in the pub.

Johnny returned to see Linda and was horrified to discover that his mum was unconscious, choking on her own vomit.

As Gina pleaded with Johnny to call an ambulance, will Linda be okay?
