EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders' Alfie Moon will reveal some sad news after returning to Walford next week.
Alfie has been off screen since September, when he decided to go to Spain to recuperate from his prostatectomy.
Alfie was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in the summer, but has only shared the extent of his health problems with Phil and Linda so far.
Upcoming scenes will see Alfie return from Spain and head to the hospital with Linda, where he receives his PSA results.
Once he is back from the hospital, Alfie has to face the music with his ex-wife Kat – who is in the dark about his diagnosis and simply believes he's just been away on holiday.
What to Read Next
Alfie pales when Kat tears into him for his disappearing act, but she soon softens when Alfie shares the sad truth.
As Kat supports Alfie in the aftermath, Phil begins to panic that his secret regarding Emma could be about to unravel.
Kat and Alfie later head to Walford East, where Alfie explains his prostate cancer diagnosis to Tommy.
Panicked, Phil accosts Alfie about Emma afterwards – keen to know if he intends to tell Kat now that she knows about his illness anyway.
Alfie insists he has no interest in telling Kat the truth given the current situation, but will he stick to his word?
Show boss Chris Clenshaw recently confirmed to Digital Spy that Phil's secrets won't remain hidden for long.
"Things in Walford don't stay secret forever, do they?", he said. "While Kat is happily married, Phil slept with Emma and Alfie knows about it. You can expect fireworks when that's revealed – and it will be revealed."
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
