Jay Brown has made a dangerous decision to start using drugs in EastEnders.
The grieving husband has recently alarmed his family by disappearing every night to visit sex worker Nadine as a nonsexual sleeping companion. Late last week, Callum discovered Jay has been seeing Nadine.
Jay made a shocking discovery of his own in Monday's (October 9) episode when he woke up at Nadine's to find a packet of ketamine on her bedside table.
When Jay questioned Nadine on whether or not she was using drugs, she admitted she was and insisted it helped her cope with her life. Nadine then suggested Jay may need something like that as well.
With Ben still upset over Jay leaving in the middle of the night, Callum tried to confront Jay and revealed that he knew all about Nadine.

Jay insisted there was nothing sexual going on with Nadine, he simply went to her place each night for sleep companionship. Callum remained unconvinced Jay was telling him the full truth.
Callum tried to take care of the problem his own way by confronting Nadine and explaining that Jay was grieving his late wife Lola.
Tension within the house was reaching an all-time high, as Ben continued to spiral over Lexi's care. However, Jay soon arrived to try to impress everyone by making a special dinner for the child.
While Jay managed to seemingly smooth things over for now, the episode ended on a dark note when he secretly went to see Nadine to buy some ketamine.
"It will make you numb and detached," Nadine warned.
Jay insisted: "That's what I want."
EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has recently praised this storyline between Jay and Nadine as a unique depiction of grief.
"It does go down a bit of a dark path but you kind of see how this has really affected him, which is the most important thing," he told Digital Spy.
"We did this storyline – we had the funeral and then it went away from us for a little bit which was good. People were going: 'We've had all this, what's happening next?' We'll see what happens next."
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
