EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders star Michelle Collins has teased a return for Cindy Junior on the soap ahead of her own long-awaited comeback.
Collins will return as Cindy Beale Senior later this week, marking the first time the character has appeared in Walford in 25 years.
Cindy was originally thought to have died off-screen whilst in labour, with her daughter Cindy Jr being raised by her aunt and grandmother.

Cindy Jr was last seen on screen in 2015 when Mimi Keene departed the soap, and Collins has teased the prospect of a whole family reunion in the near future whilst also discussing her own character’s return.

“I have mentioned her, obviously. I can't really tell you too much about her,” Collins told Digital Spy and other media. “But I know she is alive. That's about all I know. But possibly, who knows?
“A lot has happened to her [Cindy Sr]. She's been through a lot and she's almost got PTSD – she is a bit traumatised, but still a very strong character,” she added. “I think these shows write really well for women and I was really happy with particularly that week and the progression of the script.”
Cindy Sr’s return to the soap has been facilitated by a major plot twist, with her presumed death being a cover for a stint in witness protection. Following her previous actions in Albert Square, the character’s return will be sure to ruffle a few feathers, and Collins teased her interactions with other residents.

“There are some interesting scenes with Phil [Mitchell], as you can imagine,” she teased. “I did meet a lot of supporting artists who are still here, and they were really lovely and also a lot of the crew.
“[They] will make me feel really at home but there aren't that many people that are still there. There are only a handful who really knew Cindy but I am sure they knew her history though,” she added.
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
