EastEnders' Kim Fox to make a breakthrough in mental health story

EastEnders' Kim Fox is set to make a breakthrough in her ongoing mental health storyline.

Kim, who is played by Tameka Empson, began suffering from panic attacks after a car accident left her stepson Denzel Danes in a critical condition.

After Kim was charged with dangerous driving and jailed earlier this month for her involvement in the crash she suffered yet another panic attack.

Following Kim's recent release from jail she tried to hide the extent of her mental health struggles from her family but later agreed to take some time off and to seek help.

In scenes set to air next week, Kim will open up to Patrick and Howie telling them that the Kimfluencer is gone and she believes she's just a broken woman.

Devastated that Kim is feeling so low, Howie reassures her that therapy will help her to heal and convinces her to go live online and speak to her fox cub followers about how she is feeling.

As Kim is broadcasting live, Howie tries to get her to finish early so they can attend a therapy session, but Kim tells him she's cancelled the appointment. Eventually agreeing to attend the session, Kim opens up to Dr Anwar about her issues and he gives Kim advice on how to use techniques to deal with anxiety and PTSD.

When Kim tells Howie she wants to share her mental health journey on the Kimfluencer channel, the couple fall out when Kim assumes that Howie doesn't like the new version of her.

Insisting that his concerns are genuine, Howie tells Kim he is worried about how nasty people can be online and that he fears she is vulnerable.

Full of enthusiasm for her newfound mental health advocacy, Kim uses it to help Denzel and Amy out of an argument and resolves to be more 'real' on her channel.
