The final straw for Sonia comes when she witnesses Rocky Cotton create a heartfelt romantic gesture for Kathy at the café.

She confides in Rocky about how her own relationship has turned sour, but he suggests that they just need to get to know each other better.

As Sonia continues to stay silent about her unhappiness, Rocky intervenes and lets Reiss know why she's so annoyed with him.

A mortified Reiss immediately changes his ways, going overboard to celebrate Sonia's birthday —mbut is it too late?

When Reiss was introduced to screens late last year, Natalie Cassidy — who plays Sonia — praised the new romance storyline.

Natalie told Digital Spy and other media: "Having this shining beacon of light coming in, I feel like it's going to be a really exciting time.

"In the stuff I've been doing lately, I really feel that you're seeing the comedic side of Sonia come back and the light.

"I really am enjoying playing her and I think it's really special."
