Stacey Slater has faced a backlash over her decision to tell Jean about daughter Lily's pregnancy in EastEnders.

Earlier this week, 12-year-old Lily was stunned to learn that she's pregnant and has thus far refused to tell mum Stacey who the father of the child is.

It was a tense episode for the Slaters, while Kat and Tommy were being held hostage by DCI Keeble, Stacey and her mum, Jean, were trying to figure out how they could support Lily.

Stacey also continued to hide the truth from Lily's stepfather Martin Fowler, telling him that Lily needed to stay in the hospital due to the carbon monoxide leak at the family's New Year's Eve party.

"You are telling me everything, yeah?" Martin asked, with Stacey mumbling: "Yeah."

Once Martin was gone, Stacey broke down as she confided in Jean about what Lily was going through.

"She says nobody's been hurting her, but that doesn't mean she hasn't been talked into something, does it?" Stacey pointed out.

Jean cuddled Stacey once she realised her daughter had been coping with this all on her own, though neither knew Lily had approached and heard them discussing the pregnancy.

"You told her," Lily vented at Stacey.

Lily hit out at her mum, saying she could no longer trust her. Jean tried to explain to the girl that it was much better to be honest than to hide her secrets.

When Jean asked who the dad is, Lily frantically refused to say. Stacey exploded with anger, asking what her daughter was thinking and insisting she was too young to even know about sex.

"Get out," Lily demanded. "I don't want you here, and I don't want you in that interview, neither."

Stacey broke down again as she was forced to listen to the interview by pressing her ear against the door. Inside the room, Lily agreed to help the social worker with questions they had.
