A new storyline will see Stacey and her loved ones hit by a brand new challenge, which will see them struggling through the winter months.

In a recent chat with Inside Soap, Clenshaw discussed what's ahead for the clan, while also reflecting on whether Stacey could ever reunite with her ex-husband Martin.

He told the magazine: "All I can tell you is that Stacey and the Slaters, just like a lot of people in the country, are going to find it very difficult this winter. And I don’t think Martin will ever get over Stacey."

Clenshaw has also revealed there's a Christmas story in store for Kat, who has spent the past few months adamant that she doesn't want to reunite with her ex-husband Alfie, following his return to Walford in September.

Asked whether Alfie will ever give up on Kat, Clenshaw replied: "That's the big question: whether he will or not.

"All I'll say is, we're shooting something for Christmas, which is very funny and sees Alfie trying his best to win Kat back and make his kids happy – but will he succeed?" he said.

"Deep down, Kat will always love Alfie – but there's so much dirty water under that bridge and, no matter how much she loves him, I don't think she can go back there at the moment."
