Alfie is alarmed to find a big wad of cash inside but orders the boys to put the money back when Sam arrives.
What to Read Next
As Alfie continues to deal with issues at the cab office, he lands himself in a pickle by promising to buy Tommy a zombie video game as well.
When Mitch's cab breaks down, Alfie drives Vi to bingo instead – confident that he has just enough time to get to the game shop afterwards.
However, his day takes a frightening turn when a masked gunman jumps into his cab.
Keith, the gunman, explains that he's just robbed a building society and needs Alfie to be his getaway driver.
Despite the danger that he's in, Alfie takes a big risk and drives to the shop to get Tommy's game anyway.
After a successful purchase, Alfie's luck takes a nose dive when Stacey calls and reveals the Moon boys have told her all about the safe game.
Keith's ears prick up to hear the safe contains £30k, and he orders Alfie, at gunpoint, to take him to Phil's place. What will Alfie do?
Shane – who plays Alfie – explains: "Alfie is doing anything to wind Phil up. There's no intention to really try getting into the safe – he's not really bothered about what's in the safe. It's just a game to play with the kids, a guessing game.
"When they eventually get into the safe, it's the start of dominos falling to push the story forward."
Teasing the trouble Alfie is now in, Shane added: "As time goes on, Alfie turns on the charm and starts befriending this guy.
"He ultimately finds out the man has trouble with his wife and can't get access to his kids. They find a common bond between them, and Alfie thinks he's won him over. So when the guy demands to be taken to this particular place, Alfie goes, 'No, I need to get this game regardless!'
"He turns the car around and starts going back to the shop, telling the guy that he will just run in, get the game and then drive him to wherever he wants to go.
"He manages to get it with five minutes to spare, but then he takes a call on his hands-free speaker, and suddenly the gunman knows about the safe and the code that's been cracked. That's when the gunman spots another opportunity."
