EastEnders star Zaraah Abrahams has called for her on-screen dad Lucas Johnson, played by Don Gilet, to return to The Square.

Abrahams, who plays Chelsea Fox in the soap, told Inside Soap that she has been "stalking" the actor who played her dad on the show to convince him to return.

"I think it's unrequited love," she quipped. "He looks at the phone ringing, sees my name and thinks: 'Leave me alone!'"

Speaking about the scenes they filmed together, Abrahams said she "loved" working with Gilet and that he has a "great" face for the role.

"I loved our scenes – Don has that great angel-devil face. People do make mistakes, although maybe murder shouldn't be one of them! But he played that struggle really well as someone who wants to change," she said of her father's murderous past.

"He's so lovely," she added of the actor.

In upcoming scenes, Chelsea will rent out rooms in the house she shares with Whitney to avoid losing the place (which was once the location of the murders of Chantelle and Tina). Without revealing the identity of the new housemates, Abrahams said that things might get "messy" and "fun".

"I think maybe it will get messy between a couple of the housemates, [but] there will be some fun going on," she teased.

Touching on her job as a barmaid at Peggy's, the Chelsea Fox actress said: "We have so much fun there. I really enjoy working with Kim Medcalf, who plays Sam. She and Chelsea got off to a good start as Sam saw a bit of sass in Chelsea, but then Sam got a bit of power and it fizzled out and she didn't care about her. I'm sure Chelsea will win her back though."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
