Strictly Come Dancing contestants have certain rituals that they have to go through when they sign up for the show, including getting a spray tan.
EastEnders actor James Bye is one of the stars taking part in this year's series, whilst also continuing to film new scenes for the soap (balancing rehearsals with his day job shouldn't be too much of an issue, as both shows are filmed at Elstree Studios).
But Albert Square isn't exactly known for being a sunny place, literally and tonally, so James has come up with a reason to explain why Martin Fowler is looking bronzed.

Speaking to the Express, the actor said: "I've just put a line in that I've been down to the beach for the weekend. I can't not have a spray tan, you're on Strictly, you've got to have a spray tan whether you like it or not."
He also said that fellow EastEnders actor and last year's Strictly winner Rose Ayling-Ellis has been giving him advice, stating: "She has been a ray of sunshine. She said: 'Take every second in as it goes so quick'.

In the first week, James and partner Amy scored 22 for their Jive to 'What I Like About You' by The Romantics, and last night (October 1) scored 24 for their Tango to 'Bad Habits' by Ed Sheeran.
Tonight (October 2) will see the first celebrity elimination of the competition this year.
