Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas had a moment to forget at the start of tonight's (October 1) show, but at least she could laugh about it.

"It's a big night tonight, isn't it Shirley? It's the first public vote of 2022..." opened co-presenter Tess Daley after the celebrity line-up descended the stairs with their professional partners.

Smiling awkwardly, the glammed-up Ballas looked a little lost with no clue what had just been said when the camera cut to her.
