Tonight's (August 1) episode of EastEnders saw Ben continue on a downward spiral following his rape ordeal.

He started the episode in a slightly positive mood, even attempting to apologise to Kheerat Panesar for his part in his brother's murder.

"I know I can't change what I did, but don't lose your mum because of it," he said, referencing Kheerat's anger at Suki for sending Jags to prison in the first place.

Ben then said: "I know I haven't said it, but I'm really sorry for everything."

His apology, however, was not accepted, with Kheerat instead telling Ben some home truths.

Next stop for Ben was daughter Lexi's dance exam. But Lexi questioned her dad's lateness which resulted in an upsetting exchange. Ben left to go party with newcomer James, where he once again took drugs.

While making out with James, Ben began to hallucinate and saw his rapist staring back at him. Making a swift exit, a drugged-up Ben left Lexi a voicemail promising to make her a celebratory dinner. He told her: "I'll be there soon, I promise. I ain't gonna let you down."

But Ben struggled to stand and collapsed into a pile of rubbish. Suki, hearing a noise, went to investigate.

Upon seeing it was Ben, she opted to leave him there, still holding him responsible for the troubles in her family.

Ben subsequently lost consciousness. Will he be okay?
