EastEnders' Max Bowden has shared a heartwarming birthday tribute to co-star Jamie Borthwick.

The two actors play the tortured Ben Mitchell and Jay Brown respectively, and have been good friends since Bowden's debut on the BBC One soap back in 2019.

To commemorate Borthwick's 28th birthday, his co-star took to his Instagram to share a series of snaps of the two in various hilarious moments on and off set.

"Happy birthday to the self proclaimed NT (national treasure)," wrote Bowden. "My right arm. And we haven't fallen out for two whole years now. Have a blinder JB love ya my brother."

In the first picture, the duo are clad in dapper suits, clearly filming scenes for a wedding and smiling confidently at the camera.

But no birthday message comes without the necessary silly pictures – and Bowden made sure to deliver.

The actor's post included snaps of the friends smiling sleepily while tacked together under the covers of a bed, presumably on set, as well as hilarious screenshots of the two during FaceTime calls and an old photo of Borthwick on the show as a young pre-teen.

On point with the pictures' overall theme, the actor also attached a video of Borthwick immensely enjoying the perks of a massage chair while his co-stars controlled the remote.

And, of course, the post didn't escape Borthwick's attention, who jokingly threatened a "fall out".

"Ahhhh they were all fine! But the one of me just woken up in bed!! Liberty…. That fall out we ain't had starts now," he wrote in response. "Love ya brother."

EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
