EastEnders stars Diane Parish and Tameka Empson have shared some hints about what's ahead when the soap returns this autumn.
The on-screen Fox sisters chatted about their past, present and future in Walford during an appearance on Monday's EastEnders: Secrets from the Square – where Parish addressed her "excruciating" little-known first stint on the Square and Empson revealed that she actually pitched playing Kim.
Looking ahead at when EastEnders returns to screens, Parish hinted that Denise's relatively calm life with Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) won't last for long.
"I don't know a great deal but I do know that some dark things from her past are going to resurface and there's going to be some challenges there for Denise," she told host Stacey Dooley.
Denise will be able to count on the support of Kim, as it has been confirmed that Tameka Empson will be returning to the Square after taking maternity leave for the recent arrival of her baby son.
"I know I'm coming back. She's coming back. Watch this space. She's coming back," Empson confirmed on Secrets from the Square. "How, nobody knows. But maybe she'll come back wearing tartan because she's been a Scottish tourist guide!"

Empson actually only revealed her son's birth last week, explaining on Loose Women that she wanted time to "enjoy" her baby's first year without any stress from the press or others.
"Something like a baby, you just want to enjoy it before everybody goes, 'How's it doing?'" she said. "You just want to enjoy it for the time, so it wasn't a secret as such. Now he's here and he's loud, everybody knows!"
