EastEnders is lining up more romantic troubles ahead for Lola Pearce as she ended up kissing Peter Beale tonight on the heels of boyfriend Jay Brown's disastrous proposal.
Lola (Danielle Harold) and Jay's (Jamie Borthwick) relationship has been tested recently by the news that Lola was pregnant. While Jay wanted to keep the baby, Lola wasn't as excited by the prospect and wanted to focus solely on her daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown) for the moment.
In a bid to prove to Lola how much he loves her and wants a future together, tonight's (March 10) trip to Albert Square saw Jay get down on one knee and pop the question – but he didn't exactly get the answer he was hoping for.
"I – wow," Lola replied when faced with the ring Jay picked out, before asking Lexi to go upstairs and give them a minute.
"Is that a no?" Jay questioned, prompting Lola to tell him she knew he was proposing to try and get her to keep their baby.
"I know what you want," she said. "And I get it, I do, you want this baby but I'm sorry Jay, there ain't gonna be one."

Heartbroken by Lola's response, it wasn't long before Jay started throwing out a few accusations of his own, and questioned Lola about her friendship with the recently-returned Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) after he'd spotted them chatting earlier in the episode.
"Why don't you run off and have his kids?" Jay seethed.
"Well if you want a baby so bad, then maybe I'm not the right person for you!" Lola shot back, before instantly regretting it and insisting she didn't mean it.
But it was too late for Jay, who responded by storming out the flat and shouting: "Forget me, forget this, forget the lot."
By the end of the episode, a despondent Jay could be seen sending a text to Lola asking if they could talk, while Lola paid a visit to the Prince Albert to try and get her mind off the day's events.
While at the club, though, she bumped into none other than Peter himself and, after sharing a few drinks, the pair ended up sharing a kiss too.
This being Soapland, we're sure it's only a matter of time before Jay learns about the kiss – and we're already predicting more trouble ahead for Walford's latest love triangle.
