Following Linda Carter and Mick's upsetting divorce twist, EastEnders will feature a meltdown in its 35th anniversary episodes.

On the day of The Vic's boat party, Mick and Linda are at their lowest ebb, which means the former really isn't in the mood to celebrate.

But as the vessel sets sail, Linda continues to drink and embarrasses the whole family, leaving viewers to ponder whether this spells the end of their relationship for good.

Meanwhile, Linda actress Kellie Bright has hinted that her character's closeness to mother-in-law Shirley could be massive in the next phase of this storyline.

"Her relationship with Shirley is a really interesting one. They don't like each other but they do love each other," she explained. "Shirley says the things that Linda needs to hear and she makes her listen.

"Sometimes, I think you can take things from people like that in that moment that you can't hear from people that are closer to you. So, yes, I do think Shirley is key in trying to get through to Linda."
