A new EastEnders teaser trailer that aired after tonight's (November 1) episode offered even more insight into Mel Owen's explosive exit from the show.
Viewers already know that Tamzin Outhwaite will be bowing out of the BBC One soap, following the tragic death of Mel's son Hunter in the recent Albert Square siege.
And two weeks after first-look photos that showed Mel's exit will reference the infamous death of Steve Owen in an upcoming horror car crash, the latest trailer delved into the build-up to the tragic incident.
Mel has been blackmailing Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) after discovering that she is secretly pregnant with Keanu Taylor's (Danny Walters) baby.
Meanwhile, Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin) has grown increasingly concerned over Mel's involvement with Sharon's stepdaughter Louise Mitchell (Tilly Keeper), who is engaged to Keanu and is also pregnant with his baby.
The trailer takes viewers into the wake of Louise's 18th and Sharon's 50th joint birthday party, as Mel looks set to expose the truth about Sharon and Keanu's affair.

However, Sharon is onto her plans, telling Keanu that they've got to put a stop to Mel before she tells Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).
At the party, Mel tells Louise, "I always look out for you," as Keanu and Sharon watch on in concern.
In the final scene, we see Sharon chasing Mel on the road, as a voiceover says, "Just get to Phil before she does."

It looks like Sharon will play a massive role in Mel's upcoming crash – whether this happens before Mel exposes the affair to Phil and Louise is yet to be seen.
Either way, it doesn't appear it'll be a happy ending for any of the characters involved in the ongoing storyline.
