EastEnders' Ben Mitchell may be going back to his nasty ways after trying to turn over a new leaf.
Ben (Max Bowden) started off Tuesday's (September 24) episode of the BBC One soap on the right foot, making a peace offering to Keanu (Danny Walters) by having another mechanic at The Archers cover his shift so he could spend more time with Louise (Tilly Keeper).
He even went to help Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) with her bins when they spilled across the street, but was rattled when she ordered him to "just stay away". This set off a chain reaction across the rest of the day.
Phil (Steve McFadden) had set him up with a new business associate called Jason who he was eager to impress, so Ben set him up with a nice new car to keep him keen.
Yet the confrontation with Jean was gnawing at Ben, so he considered throwing away the wrench Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) used to attack Phil. That would essentially make things right with the Slaters by allowing Stacey to return from exile.
On his way to toss the wrench in the rubbish compactor, Ben was interrupted by his love interest Callum Highway (Tony Clay), who'd witnessed him being brushed off by Jean.

"You're not a bad person, Ben," Callum told him. "I know it ain't none of my business, but it's nice to see you being vulnerable. You let your guard down. You let yourself open up."
"Yeah, you're right," Ben admitted, adding: "Thanks."
Ben then covertly walked back inside with the wrench to store it safely for the moment he'd need to use it to his advantage.
Is Ben turning back to the dark side?
EastEnders continues on Thursday (September 26) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
