EastEnders' newest arrival Jonno Highway made an inauspicious arrival in Walford during Monday's (July 1) double bill.
The episodes saw a reluctant Callum (Tony Clay) reaching out to his estranged dad with both Whitney (Shona McGarty) and brother Stuart's (Ricky Champ) encouragement ahead of the wedding.
When his dad Jonno (Richard Graham) turned up in the Square, he instantly charmed Whitney by offering to pay for her wedding dress and even seemed to bond with a cautious Stuart after their rocky past.
But what the Highways didn't know is that, earlier in the day, Jonno had stopped by the Vic for a drink, where he'd managed to offend Ben (Max Bowden) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) with a homophobic rant.
Picking up an ad for the Square's Pride celebration, Jonno complained: "In our day, if you didn't know your back from your front, you'd have the sense to keep quiet about it!
"Now, they're shoving it down our throats! Why is it something to be proud of?"

Ben put Jonno on the spot by revealing that he is gay, with Callum's dad immediately starting to back-pedal by insisting he was joking.
"Only it weren't a joke, was it? So, if I was you, I'd get out of here while I could still walk," Phil warned.
Shirley Carter sided with Ben as she threatened Jonno: "You should take their advice."

Little does Jonno know that Callum has been harbouring secret romantic feelings for Ben in recent weeks, with Tony Clay recently teasing that "the fire and the spark" between them will be revisited.
Ben isn't about to let Jonno's homophobic comments go either, as it will lead to an all-out brawl between the two characters in the Vic later in the week.
