Coronation Street's big trial week continues tonight, as Ben Driscoll and Megan Walsh are next to give evidence.

Following Will Driscoll's emotional outburst in court, which saw him try to get Megan out of trouble, Ben is left to get the case back on track. But Megan has another card still to play…

Meanwhile, Nick Tilsley's efforts to protect his son Sam Blakeman from the truth about the trial backfire.

1. Ben slips up on the stand

It's a new day in Weatherfield and Ben heads to court to give his evidence at Megan's trial.

The initial exchange with the prosecution barrister runs smoothly, as Ben recounts how Will hasn't been himself for months due to Megan's manipulation. However, things go wrong when it's Adam's turn to ask questions in Megan's defence.

After Ben accidentally mentions that Will was stressed about moving to Weatherfield in the first place, Adam seizes on the revelation and suggests this was the only reason for the teen's erratic behaviour. Can Ben convince the jury otherwise?

2. Megan tells a shocking lie

Megan is called to give her version of events and she paints herself as a supportive sports coach and teacher, who stood by Will through some tough times.

Proving that she'll stop at nothing, Megan lies that Ben put Will through intolerable pressure regarding his sporting career and this left the teen feeling suicidal.

Will Megan's sick lie be believed? And how is Will going to react when he finds out what Megan has said?

3. Hope tells Sam the truth

Hope pays a visit to Sam in the psychiatric unit and is put on the spot when he questions her about how Megan's trial is going. Unable to lie, Hope explains that the chances of a conviction aren't looking good – contradicting Nick's earlier claims.

Sam is furious with Nick for lying to him, in yet another setback for their father-son relationship.

4. David spots something suspicious

David notices that an uneasy dynamic is developing between Jodie and Sarah when he sees them together at the café.

The rivals have reached an impasse over each other's secrets – is it only a matter of time before the truth comes out?

5. Ryan becomes wary of Idris

Idris invites Leanne to join him in a room at the Chariot Square Hotel, as their casual relationship continues.

Ryan fears that Leanne is setting herself up for heartbreak and steps in to warn Idris – but his protective act is sure to earn him a frosty reception from the businessman…
