Coronation Street spoilers follow for the latest episode on YouTube and ITVX, which airs on ITV1 later tonight. This article contains discussion of grooming.

Coronation Street's Tim Metcalfe's current storyline takes a turn in the latest episode as he starts to realise the truth about his past, but not before more arguments with his wife Sally.

Recently, it was revealed that Tim lost his virginity at 14 to a woman named Trisha Pinkerton, who was 20 at the time.

He said that he always thought of it as a conquest that all his school friends were jealous of, but people like Brian Packham insisted that he had been groomed.

In tonight's episode, available to stream now, Tim keeps telling Sally to stop talking about Trisha before Brody Michaelis and the other kids pick up on their friction.

The two go for lunch at the Bistro and see Trisha at another table. The couple notice that he's there with a teenage boy. Sally makes an assumption about what's going on, and goes over to Trisha's table to confront her.

"I'm really sorry to interrupt your lunch but I'm really worried about you," she says to the teenager, Rory. "Is she your aunty because you can tell me the truth."

Rory replies that he really is Trisha's nephew, and after being embarrassed by Sally, Rory and Trisha decide to leave. Tim becomes furious with Sally as a result.

Back at the table, Brody asks about Trisha, but Tim snaps. "Learn some respect," he curtly says to Brody, who promptly left as well.

Later on, Sally encourages Tim to talk about what happened as otherwise he'll continue to take it out on people like Brody, but Tim responds by trying to change the subject and leaving to go to the shop.

Out in the street, Tim once again bumps into Trisha, who says she can't believe Sally would ever imply any wrongdoing.

"I never did anything bad to you, did I?" she asks, hoping that Tim would agree with her. "We know what it was."

Tim doesn't give her the answer she wants, instead lying to her and saying he "hadn't given it much thought". Between his response and the look on his face as Trisha walks away, it's clear that Tim is starting to realise that he was taken advantage of.

Viewers theorised that Tim's storyline will cross over with the one involving newcomer Will Driscoll due to the similar subject matter.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX and YouTube.
