Coronation Street spoilers follow from Friday's episode (24 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.
Coronation Street airs upsetting scenes tonight as Theo Silverton continues to torment Todd Grimshaw behind closed doors. The ongoing domestic abuse storyline intensifies as Theo berates Todd over unfortunate incidents with his new car.
Theo recently bought an expensive new vehicle for Todd, but now seems to be using the gift as a sly way to exert his control. A struggling Todd feels under pressure as Theo constantly reminds him to treat the car with care and respect.
As previously revealed in spoilers released by the show, tonight's episode features two accidents with the vehicle. The first occurs when Todd gives Sarah Barlow and her young son Harry a lift, which leads to the youngster accidentally spilling milkshake on the back seat.
Theo pretends to be fine with it while Sarah and Harry are around, but takes a sterner approach behind closed doors by ordering Todd to have the car professionally cleaned.

Later, Todd's day gets worse when he accidentally scrapes the car while reversing. He soon lies to Theo to protect the secret that he's having it fixed at Kevin Webster's garage.
When Theo finds out, he berates Todd at home and becomes physically threatening, before pouring milk over Todd's head to humiliate him.
Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd, recently explained: "Gaslighting is a word that's banded around fairly frequently these days, but that's definitely what has started to happen here and is in full flow by this point in the story.

"Todd's really had what is normal behaviour in the relationship adjusted for him, by a lot of Theo's micro aggressions and also Todd’s kind of acceptance of elements of it.
"So we're in the eggshells phase of the relationship now, where Todd has really anchored his own moods to what mood he's going to get from Theo day to day. He's trying constantly to anticipate things that Theo might get riled about to avoid a situation like the kebab scene where it really boiled over."
Coronation Street's producer Kate Brooks recently confirmed that Theo's abuse of Todd will continue over the coming months, with a special episode focusing on their relationship lined up for the Christmas period.
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
