Coronation Street spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode (15 October), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.

Coronation Street's Todd Grimshaw looks set to grow even more isolated in his dark relationship with Theo Silverton. The worrying situation gets even worse tonight as Todd decides to keep Theo happy by cutting ties with his ex-partner Billy Mayhew.

The drama plays out amid Theo's jealousy over Todd spending the night at Billy's place to sleep off a drunken evening. Although nothing happened between the former couple, Theo has already retaliated by hooking up with newcomer Pete – played by former Hollyoaks star Andrew Hayden-Smith.

When Todd returns home tonight, full of apologies for his night away, he's horrified to find Theo and Pete together. At first, it seems to be the final straw for Todd as he berates Theo for being unfaithful and kicks him out of their flat.

Later, Todd tries to make Theo pay by putting on a show of unity with Billy during a Mr and Mrs-style game at the Rovers Return. However, just when it appears that Todd is escaping Theo's control, he decides to give their rocky relationship another try...

Back at the flat, Billy pays a visit but Todd takes a drastic step to keep Theo happy.

Keeping Billy at the door rather than letting him inside, Todd says: "I do think it'd be better for everyone if we kept our distance for a while.

"I need to fix things with Theo. He means too much to me to let him just walk out of my life. You do understand, don't you?"

With Theo secretly delighted, there's a real danger that his ongoing abuse of Todd will get worse in the coming weeks now that he's isolated Todd from a key part of his support network...

Coronation Street's producer Kate Brooks recently confirmed that there's a while to go with Todd and Theo's storyline, culminating in a special episode airing before Christmas.

"Christmas is often a time where there are spikes in calls to the Samaritans. We wanted to really show Todd and Theo's journey in the build-up to Christmas," Brooks told us.

"We've got a really special episode which is just focused primarily on Todd and Theo's relationship. But it's told in a completely different, unique, never-been-done-before way, which will really pack a punch on many levels. So we've got that story really shaping up."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
