Coronation Street's David Platt confides in his stepson Max Turner about his guilty secret next week.

David is desperately trying to cover his tracks after blocking his wife Shona from seeing her jailed son Clayton Hibbs.

Earlier this month, David deleted visiting orders that Clayton had sent to Shona. He also visited Clayton in jail to warn him off.

When Shona later learned that Clayton had attempted to take his own life in prison, she became determined to get answers over how his mental health could have deteriorated without her being aware. Undeterred, David continued to manipulate Shona.

Next week, Shona heads off for a meeting with the prison governor and David accompanies her.

David panics when the governor mentions that Clayton issued two visiting orders a few weeks ago – and that someone came to see him. Fortunately for David, the governor refuses to confirm who the visitor was.

Later in the week, David confesses to Max that he was the one who intercepted the visiting orders. He insists that Shona must never find out the truth.

Refusing to let this go, Shona asks local cabbie Steve McDonald to take her back to the prison. Although Shona swears him to secrecy, Steve later tells Max about the mysterious taxi ride.
