Coronation Street has released a new trailer that teases the drama to come on the cobbles this September.

During today's edition of Loose Women, ITV premiered the new clip, which is available to watch below:

The exciting promo trailer previews how the show's biggest storylines will soon come to a head, with time running out for a number of beloved characters.

These obviously include evil Joel Deering, with his fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey recently discovering that he attacked and abused Lauren Bolton and is the father of the teenager's baby.

With Dee-Dee secretly installing a tracker on Joel's phone, she and DS Swain will come together to try and take him down in upcoming episodes, with Swain declaring that "we do whatever it takes."

But Joel is clever and will continue to scheme to escape his crimes, and in the trailer he is seen trying to kiss Dee-Dee. Heartbroken by his betrayal, will she be able to bring him to justice, and will it be "the beginning of the end for Joel Deering?"

Elsewhere, Paul Foreman's battle with motor neurone disease continues, following a special episode last month which saw him change his mind about ending his own life.

Husband Billy knows that Paul doesn't have much time left, so is determined to make every second that they have left together count.

In a tragic twist, Paul is suddenly rushed to hospital, with Bernie and Summer left distraught as he is taken away in an ambulance. But Billy is nowhere to be seen, and he must try and get back in time to say a final goodbye to Paul.

Meanwhile, Nick Tilsley's life has got very complicated recently, as he continues his affair with Toyah behind her sister Leanne's back.

He realises the impact that this betrayal will have on the family, but how long will Nick and Toyah's romance be kept under wraps?

The trailer shows Leanne slapping Toyah, so it appears that the truth might come out sooner rather than later...

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
