Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has opened up about her character Toyah Battersby's growing feelings for Nick Tilsley.
The pair have been getting closer amid Leanne's concerning connections to sinister cult The Institute, with scenes next week seeing Toyah reported to police over her tragic past after previously confiding in Nick and Leanne about it.
Suspecting that Institute leader Rowan Cunliffe may be the one behind the report after she receives a delivery of yellow roses, she confronts Leanne, who admits she told him about Toyah burying her stillborn child at 19, which came after she was raped by Phil Simmonds.

Amid this, Nick is appalled by Leanne's behaviour and warns her that their relationship will be over unless she cuts ties with Rowan. Amid their mutual concern, however, Toyah and Nick betray Leanne by sharing a kiss.
Speaking about their growing closeness, Georgia explained that Toyah and Nick have "found something in common here".
"They both love Leanne, they’re seeing a change in her and they feel like they're losing her," she said. "That’s inadvertently pushing Toyah and Nick together to take Rowan on.

"I also think how emotionally available Nick was for Toyah when he found out about Rose, perhaps shifted how she views him a little bit and made her look at him in a different way."
As she faces court, Nick is there for Toyah again, Georgia revealing that things are "really confusing for her".
"Nick is to all intents and purposes her brother-in-law and they haven’t always got on, so it's not like she's been harbouring some secret attraction," she continued.
"This change in him has hit her out of the blue, how understanding and compassionate he can be. She probably hasn't seen that side of him before and she doesn't really have anyone else.

"She hasn’t really got friends, she feels like she’s losing her sister, she hasn't got a partner. So I think maybe she's putting a lot of stock in the support he's giving up, he's becoming everything to her and maybe those feelings are starting to get a little bit blurred."
Georgia added: "It's interesting because every time something happens, where Toyah might feel guilty for leaning on Nick, Leanne does something again to push her away or she behaves in a way that is unacceptable.
"It's difficult when you're angry at someone, but you also feel guilty for something you've done to them. It's very conflicting for Toyah."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
