Coronation Street's Stu Carpenter will make a big decision over his granddaughter Eliza Woodrow next week, as he continues to worry about Eliza's wellbeing.
Since Eliza's dad Dom Everett came back into her life, Eliza has made the decision to move in with him at his precinct flat, rather than staying with Stu, who is her guardian, and Stu's partner Yasmeen Metcalfe.
Stu has found Eliza's move hard to accept, particularly after Dom admitted that he didn't want his daughter living with him and demanded money from Stu, and Stu has hired a private investigator to try to dig up some dirt on Dom.

In scenes airing next week, the PI tells Stu that she's had no luck in finding anything incriminating about Dom.

Not wanting to give up on getting Dom out of Eliza's life, Stu insists that the detective carry on digging, whatever the cost.
Eliza later visits Stu and Yasmeen for tea, and she admits that she was given detention at school after she fell asleep in class, having stayed up all night watching a horror movie. Stu is infuriated by the revelation.

Later in the week, Stu and Yasmeen are concerned to see Eliza is sporting a black eye. Eliza explains that she took a hit while doing Taekwondo, but insists that it's nothing to worry about.
Following this, social worker Felicity calls to talk to Eliza. Yasmeen and Eliza are both shocked to realise that Stu alerted Social Services over his concerns about Eliza. Will this drive another wedge between Stu and his granddaughter?
Eliza's story recently crossed over with the soap's teen bullying plot, as it was revealed that bully Mason Radcliffe was the mystery person who knocked Eliza down in a hit-and-run incident.
