Ryan Connor will face prejudice as he returns to work in Coronation Street.

Upcoming scenes will involve Ryan deciding to return to the Bistro even though he's still struggling to process the emotional and physical toll of the acid attack.

During a heart-to-heart conversation with Carla Connor, Ryan confesses that he worries about being in the public eye with his scars even though it's time he returns to work.

Ryan continues to grapple with the complexities of working with the public when he has a chance encounter with Daisy Midgeley.

Ryan subsequently asked Daisy to stay away from him, though he stopped short of telling her partner Daniel Osbourne that they'd shared a kiss.

When the two meet again in upcoming scenes, Ryan pretends he's already started back at work at the Bistro and assures Daisy she doesn't need to worry about him anymore.

Ryan realises his hands are now tied, so he nervously calls up at the Bistro to ask Leanne Battersby if he can have some of his old shifts back.

He's barely back on the job when an insensitive customer complains about the scars. However, Leanne jumps to Ryan's defence by calling him "a hero".

Ryan only overhears the tail-end of the conversation but rushes out once he figures out why the customer is arguing with Leanne.
