Coronation Street's Lucy Fallon shares anxiety battle since welcoming her son

Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has opened up on her battles with anxiety after giving birth to her son.

The actor, who starred as Bethany Platt in the soap, welcomed her son, Sonny Jude, in January with her partner Ryan Ledbury, and has since spoken about her struggles with anxiety since becoming a mum in a candid Instagram post.

Posting a selfie on her Stories while cradling her baby, she wrote: "Maternal mental health week. There is nothing in the world that can prepare you. From giving birth, the aftermath and then having this teeny tiny lil human bean to take care of."

She went on to explain how she has suffered from anxiety following the birth of her first child: "The thing I’ve struggled with the most is the anxiety that comes with being a mum. I question everything I do every single day and I am honestly winging the life out of it. But we are here and we're having a gorgeous time. Sending love and positive vibes, we all got this."

It isn't the first time the actor has shared an insight into parenthood and offered support to others, recently posting a selfie on Stories with the caption: "If you're in the thick of newborn chaos – it gets so much easier."
