Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has confirmed more trouble for Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs following their romantic Christmas Day wedding.

The couple's relationship is back on solid ground after a difficult couple of years, but problems with their daughter Hope are far from over.

Last year, Hope became fixated on her biological father – serial killer John Stape. This culminated in her being suspended from school for trying to re-enact one of his crimes when she threatened to attack fellow pupils with a hammer.

Although Hope has appeared to be on her best behaviour since then, Fiz and Tyrone are unaware that she's still avidly listening to an old tape that John recorded before he died.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media in a recent interview, Corrie's producer Iain MacLeod commented: "Hope's surname is still Stape, even after the wedding for a while.

"She does start to dwell on her dad. She received a little bit of corrupted information on John from her half-sister Jade, but she still really doesn't know a great deal about him.

"Hope develops a toxic curiosity about John that leads to fairly interesting blackly comedic territory. She becomes slightly obsessed in a way that causes problems for Fiz and Tyrone.

"They'll face some difficulty parenting Hope going forward. Without giving too much away, Hope's troubled behaviour ends up in a fairly acrimonious feud with an adult neighbour that involves a chinchilla!

"Hope's behaviour will become increasingly difficult over the course of the year but there's also extremely light-hearted bits."

On Fiz and Tyrone's relationship more generally, MacLeod added: "There's a lovely bit where Fiz and Tyrone feel a bit like they're sleepwalking back into the staleness that led Ty to stray, so they decide to reignite the romantic side of their relationship.

"That all goes horrendously wrong thanks to advice from Sally. Her and Tim's dressing up box features, but it's really funny and has Evelyn in the middle."

In real life, Jennie McAlpine – who plays Fiz – recently announced that she's six months pregnant with her third child.
