Pregnant Jennie McAlpine hints her baby could have a Coronation Street-inspired name

The Coronation Street family are expanding with star Jennie McAlpine's baby number three.

The Fiz Stape actress is currently six months pregnant and has revealed her child may have a Corrie-inspired name.

It wouldn't be a first for McAlpine after she and husband Chris Farr named their first daughter Hilda, partly to honour iconic Corrie character Hilda Ogden. The couple also share a son, Albert.

"It just kind of happened, so I think it'll probably be the same," McAlpine told OK! Magazine.

"Hilda was a family name for us and we loved it. But Hilda Ogden is an absolute Coronation Street icon and I am a big Coronation Street fan, so I love that it is a nod to that. Jean Alexander, who played Hilda, sadly died before Hilda was born.

McAlpine and her onscreen husband Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs) have recently tied the knot in a Christmas Day ceremony.

Halsall was one of the first co-stars to find out about her third pregnancy and has been really supportive of her.

"Alan was the first person I told," McAlpine shared.

"I was thinking, 'I might not be feeling brilliant and if you bring any butter near me I might feel sick'. We've been busy, so he's really looked after me – and the bosses. They all know and they're all really happy. We might have to start hiding Fiz behind a washing basket again!"
