Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan calls for Sharon return after Harvey reveal

Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan has called for Sharon to return following the shocking reveal that he is related to Harvey Gaskell.

In last night's (December 19) episode, we found out that Jack's character Jacob is Harvey's nephew when his dad Damon confirmed the news.

Now that the family history has been confirmed, fans of the soap will know that this means that Jacob is related to Sharon Bentley since Harvey is Sharon's nephew.

Calling for Sharon to return to the cobbles, Jack took to Twitter to directly address the shocking new twist.

Tagging Tracie Bennett in his post, the Sharon actress replied: "Hahaha. As I said luv, she's on a road trip somewhere in a desert," followed by some cactus emojis.

Sharon returned to Weatherfield after 22 years away for a stint last year, where she reconnected with her foster mum Rita and nephew Harvey.

Following Sharon's return, it was confirmed that she was drug dealer Harvey's (played by Strictly Come Dancing star Will Mellor) aunt.

The soap revealed that Harvey's late father Wayne Gaskell, a bad boy who made a brief appearance on the soap in 1982, is Sharon's brother.

When Jack joined the soap last year, his character Jacob began working for Harvey, revealing to his own dad just how badly his uncle had treated him in last night's shocking twist.

"He was looking after me all right. Paying me next to nothing to deal pills, threatening me, calling you a waste of space. When I tried to get away, he nearly killed me. He beat me up so bad, I was in hospital for a week."

Confirming the news that Harvey was his uncle for the first time Jacob said: "If they knew who I was. If they knew Harvey was my uncle, it’d all be over."
