Fiz and Tyrone have had a tense relationship on Coronation Street lately, with the latter’s temper getting him in all sorts of trouble after punching Nick.

The couple have been anxious ever since hearing of the Weatherfield Gazette’s plan to serialise a new book about Fiz’s late husband, John Stape.

For obvious reasons, the duo dread the thought of the publication revealing all of John’s serial killing exploits, as it will undoubtedly cause major unrest in the village, but it will also put a strain on Fiz and Tyrone.

"It puts them in a position where they are going to have to speak to Hope about John Stape before they have wanted to. Tyrone is also really upset about it because he feels like it’s out of his control."

The soap star, who has played Tyrone since 1998, also revealed details about the strain it will put on Fiz’s and Tyrone’s relationship, which had only recently been mended after the couple broke up and he had a brief relationship with Alina.

"For Tyrone, it’s the fear of the unknown that is driving his actions throughout this week. He doesn’t know how Hope is going to react to all this, he doesn’t know if this is going to interfere with his and Fiz’s relationship," he said.

Halsall revealed that he is worried that the impact of the Stape article could ruin the connection that Tyrone and Fiz have rebuilt.

"He doesn’t know how this is going to disrupt their family life," he continued. "Tyrone feels like he’s only just settled back in with Fiz and the kids and he doesn’t want anything to ruin this moment so it’s the fear of the unknown and he is scared of what might happen next."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
