Coronation Street spoilers.

Coronation Street's regular misery guts Eileen Grimshaw is going to leave the residents of the Cobbles worried in upcoming scenes. Not because of her brush with death, but because the experience has given her a positive outlook on life.

While carrying a pumpkin to give to Glenda Shuttleworth, Eileen bumps into Gail Rodwell, trips over and loses consciousness. George and Sean Tully rush to see if she's okay, and see that she's woken up in a strangely cheery mood.

Eileen tells George that she intends to spoil him rotten, which leads to him admitting to Sean that he's actually a little bit scared.

Explaining her sudden change in attitude, Eileen states that she believes she saw heaven while she was passed out — she saw a bright light, smelt something sweet and heard some strange yet soothing music, and now she feels very at peace.

A few days later, Eileen decides to cook for the local soup kitchen, which leads Todd to tell George that he thinks something is very wrong with Eileen.

The only person who supports this change in Eileen is Mary Taylor (because of course), who encourages Eileen to write about her brief trip to heaven in a paranormal magazine. That's when George decides he can't have Eileen living under this delusion any longer, and explains what actually happens.

Will Eileen react by becoming even more miserable than usual, or will she realise that she liked being more chilled-out and keep it up?
