Coronation Street star Joe Frost addresses Leo's shock exit

Coronation Street's Joe Frost has addressed Leo Thompkins's shock death on the soap.

Earlier this week, Leo met his end at the hands of Stephen Reid after learning that he was defrauding mother Audrey Roberts. Amid a scuffle on the factory gantry, Leo was sent over the edge of the railings into a bin.

Joe has now spoken on his exit on social media, sharing a selfie on Instagram from his dressing room and calling his run on the soap a "dream come true".

"Oooft. What a ride… Six weeks that turned into a hell of a year," he captioned the picture. "A dream come true for a lad from the North West. Can't thank the whole team at @coronationstreet enough for letting me add my footprints to the cobbles.

Following Joe's exit, Stephen actor Todd Boyce recently spoke to Digital Spy and other press about Leo's demise, teasing how the huge twist will affect things going forward.

Addressing Stephen's next moves, he revealed: "Stephen goes back to the scene of the crime. I think he's guilt-ridden. He's at the back of Underworld and he sees Leo's phone, which they were scuffling over. It had been forgotten about on the ground.

"Stephen manages to make it seem like Leo is in Canada. He sneaks into the pub, because he overhears from Gemma that the suitcase and the passport are in the back room. It was very creepy sneaking into an empty pub and doing that.

"So for all the world, the passport's gone, the suitcase is gone, he's sending text messages saying everything's great in Canada. So it's the perfect cover."
