Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Dev Alahan will struggle to cope next week in the aftermath of his son Aadi being shot.

Aadi was rushed to hospital last night after taking a bullet during the heated rooftop showdown between Kelly Neelan, Gary Windass and Kieron Edgerton.

The teenager was taken into surgery for emergency treatment, but there was relief all round when doctors confirmed that he was likely to make a full recovery.

Although Aadi had lost a lot of blood, the bullet didn't do any lasting damage.

The high-stakes drama surrounding Kelly led to her departure from the ITV soap last night.

Kelly survived her showdown with Kieron, but decided that she couldn't stay in Weatherfield following the revelation that Gary had killed her father Rick in 2019.

Millie Gibson, who played Kelly, decided to leave her role on the show after three years.

She recently told Digital Spy and other media: "I think Corrie is a home. It's the best way of describing it, it's a home. Because I'm so young, I thought, 'I've got to leave'. I have no responsibilities – I don't have kids, I don't have a mortgage to pay or anything like that, I'm still grateful to be living at home.

"So I thought, 'I'm just going to see what else the world has'. If it does happen, it does – that would be quite good, wouldn't it? I just thought I might as well see what happens while I'm still young."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
