Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street's Sarah (Tina O'Brien) and Adam (Sam Robertson) Barlow are determined that both of their respective families spend Christmas together – despite past and current tensions – and have hinted at the possibility of a baby in their future as being a reason for two titan families of the cobbles to put their differences aside.
"I think it's because [Sarah] knows that she wants to start a family with Adam and for selfish reasons they want to spend Christmas together," O'Brien shared with Inside Soap. "Sarah goes for the hard sell saying 'I could be having a baby that is going to be a Platt-Barlow, and we're all going to have to get on!'"
Though Sarah believes "the time is right" for the couple to expand their family, O'Brien herself isn't too keen.

"I think I'm going to have to say to the writers 'Yeah, please don't bother! I've done it twice, can we stop please?'. Honestly, we have twins Freddie and Isaac who play little Harry – they are adorable and I love working with them – but it's the stuff before where you have to wear the bump for ages and you're carrying it around in every scene. So maybe Adam and Sarah should think about putting things on hold for a while!"

Further teasing what the future may hold for them after a somewhat turbulent year, O'Brien said that she's pleased the soap couple finally seem to be happy.
"Sam and I have worked together for so long now and we get on really well. It's interesting, though, as every time [Sarah and Adam] are happy, somebody throws a spanner in the works, which is a shame as I think they do have the recipe to be a really great couple."
However, that may be short-lived as Adam's ex Lydia has made her debut on the street and the aforementioned "spanner" may have already begun with Adam admitting to his rather promiscuous past. Considering Sarah and Lydia have become friends, the revelation proves to be "difficult".

"She obviously knew he was a bit of a player before she met him, but I don't think she knew the full extent... She's a bit put out and a bit jealous about it."
And what if there were more to Adam and Lydia's relationship than she first thought? Well, O'Brien says Sarah would be understandably "absolutely heartbroken", adding: "She's invested in her future with Adam, and I think she really believes everything he tells her. They're a married couple, and you don't enter into that easily if you don't think it's for you."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV.
