Catherine Tyldesley has assembled a supreme cast for her very first play, titled The Ceremony.

The ex-Coronation Street and Strictly Come Dancing star announced the news via Instagram yesterday (October 18), admitting she'd been "dying to talk about this".

Next to a collection of cast shots, the actress wrote: "I can't quite believe it's happening!!! During lockdown I wrote a play. The most incredible West End producer read it, loved it, and told me he wanted to do it.

"We are blessed to have the most brilliant director who is bringing such magical happenings to the play. The director asked who my dream cast was. I told him. We emailed them. They all said YES. At this point I was ready to pass out with excitement."

I'd Do Anything winner Jodie Prenger, fellow Corrie alumni Paula Lane and Sue Johnston, Stephen Rahman-Hughes from EastEnders and Emmerdale favourite Samantha Giles were then confirmed as the theatrical show's line-up.
