Coronation Street star Stirling Gallacher has joined the cast of Casualty (playing the other half of screen legend Di Botcher's character Jan Jenning, no less), but that doesn't mean she is done playing Paula Martin.
Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, the actress said that she intends to keep playing both characters for as long as she can keep it up.
"Well that's the plan," she said, "to keep riding the wagon until the wheels fall off! Luckily, I can drive to Cardiff, where Casualty is filmed, and the Corrie studios in Manchester from my home in the Cotswolds.

"They're very slick shows, and both roles are really different, so that makes it easy to dip in and out of each."
She also joked that she could join Holby City as well, since it's filmed in the same studios as Casualty, but then she'd be known as 'three-gigs Gallacher'.

She also says that her new hairstyle for her Casualty character Ffion is actually a wig, because while she loves dyeing her hair and would have loved to have turned it red, she is actually severely allergic to the hair dye.
In last night's (July 18) episode, Ffion turned up to celebrate her and Jan's wedding anniversary, but the latter was so wrapped up in her work that she had completely forgotten about it, and tried to pretend that she hadn't.
Casualty airs Saturday nights on BBC One, while Coronation Street currently airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 7.30pm on ITV.
