Tonight's double bill of Coronation Street (August 14) saw Robert Preston's double life get a whole lot more complicated.
As the chef headed out, Michelle asked him to take her engagement ring to be resized. However, after Tyler called Robert to say he and Vicky were leaving, he went straight over to their house.
Refusing to be his dirty secret any longer, a furious Vicky told Robert to leave. But she soon changed her mind after finding something: Robert had dropped the engagement ring on the floor, leading Vicky to believe he was going to propose.

In tonight's second episode, Robert naturally found himself in a rather tricky situation with Michelle and Vicky.
Robert tried to backtrack by saying Vicky couldn't be won over by a grand gesture, but she insisted she could, leaving Robert no choice but to get down on one knee and propose.

After she accepted his proposal, she told him it was time he told Michelle about them. Robert then headed back only to find Michelle in tears after a row with Ryan over Alya.
