Coronation Street airs a new crisis for Paula Martin and Sophie Webster next week after a terrifying incident on the cobbles.
Paula (Stirling Gallacher) is forced to make a confession after realising that she has inadvertently put Sophie and her family in danger.
Upcoming episodes see Paula behave shiftily as she tells Sophie (Brooke Vincent) that there have been two break-ins at her flat in quick succession.
Although Sophie knows this is suspicious, Paula seems strangely keen to change the subject and clearly isn't telling her the full story.

Keen to help in any way she can, Sophie invites Paula to stay at Number 13 for a while. This initially sparks a frosty reception from Sophie's dad Kevin (Michael Le Vell), who disapproves of the age gap, but he later relents as it's clear that Paula makes his daughter happy.

Sadly for the Websters, it seems that Paula's presence is landing them in serious trouble as a passer-by manages to sneakily steal Kevin's keys from his pocket without him noticing.
Later in the week, Kevin reluctantly leaves his young son Jack alone in the house for a while as he heads off to help Roy Cropper, who has broken down on the road.

While Kevin is out, the man who stole his keys lets himself into Number 13 and starts looking through Paula's legal papers.
Jack quickly realises there's an intruder and texts Kevin to warn him, before hiding under his bed as he waits for his dad to return.
When Kevin does arrive back, he breaks down the front door and scares the burglar into making his escape out the back.
Fortunately, Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) is on hand to restrain the man, leading to his arrest.

Kevin is confused when he realises that nothing has been taken. A guilty Paula is then forced to admit that the burglar is known to her – he's a criminal who she has been acting against, and he has been targeting her for a while.
Kevin and Sophie both angrily confront Paula for putting their family in danger and when she offers to pack her bags, Sophie agrees it's for the best. Can Sophie forgive Paula for this?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, July 26 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
