Tonight's hour-long special of Coronation Street (July 5) saw the Platt's family spat continue as David and Nick were arrested for breaking the terms of their bail.

The pair are set to face court over the theft of Audrey Roberts' £80,000 inheritance money, with Nick, the true guilty party, attempting to frame David for the crime.

In tonight's scenes, Gail called for a family get-together to iron out their differences, but David and Nick pointed out they were in breach of their bail conditions by being in the same room as Audrey.

With the meeting looking like it would soon descend into chaos, Gail asked the family to pass around an ornament, with the person holding it being the only one allowed to speak.

However, Nick and David remained at loggerheads and tussled over the ornament, sending it flying. It hit Audrey on the head and an ambulance was called.

Not long after this, the police arrived and arrested Nick and David for being in breach of bail.

Later, Gail was left fretting about David and Nick appearing in court, with Audrey stunned to realise she had abandoned her in favour of going to court to look out for them.

In a devastating verdict for the brothers, the judge ruled that they were to stay in custody until their trial.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
