Coronation Street villain Geoff Metcalfe increased his control over Yasmeen Nazir tonight (July 3).
The villain was recently revealed to be the thief behind the jewellery robbery, although only the viewers know that. He managed to use the situation to manipulate Alya into moving out, isolating Yasmeen further.
And now he's told Yasmeen that he's got her a new insurance deal, and that he 'accidentally' gave the old insurer his details for the jewellery payout.
Viewers are really, really wanting Yasmeen to see sense about the situation, and are worried where his control could go next. Is he going to try and rule her finances entirely?
Interestingly, tonight's episode saw Carla Connor return to the cobbles and announce that she was handing out her shares of the factory to the staff. Peter Barlow thought that she wasn't in the right frame of mind to be making such a decision.
Peter then told Beth Tinker in the pub that he was seeking power of attorney so he could look after Carla's finances. Although he changed his mind after a chat with Carla, it was a fascinating parallel to Geoff's story.
