Coronation Street's Carla Connor will flee from Weatherfield in the aftermath of the Underworld roof collapse.
Carla (Alison King) shows tell-tale signs of a guilty conscience by avoiding the consequences of the tragedy that unfolds at her factory.
This Wednesday's double bill (March 20) will see a death confirmed following the terrible turn of events with the factory roof.
This leaves Carla facing an investigation from the police, as well as show returnee Wayne Hayes. Wayne is Roy Cropper's former foster child, who now works as a health and safety inspector.
Carla fears that she could face a manslaughter charge if the police discover that she knew the roof was dangerous and failed to sort it out properly.
Unable to face everybody after her official interview, Carla decides to get away from Weatherfield for a few days.
