The ITV show fought off competition from Hollyoaks, Casualty and EastEnders, despite the BBC soap's high profile 'Who Killed Lucy?' storyline.

The BAFTAs took place at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane in London tonight (May 10).

Last year's event also saw Coronation Street claim the soap prize, beating EastEnders, Casualty and Holby City to the title.
